Properties that receive consistently high ratings over a large number of guests may become eligible for TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence. This prestigious award distinguishes the top 10% of the hotels listed on TripAdvisor.
The low number of qualifying hotels makes it even more impressive that nearly half of eligible Grandstay® Hotels and Crossings by Grandstay® hotels were awarded the Certificate of Excellence for 2013 (11 hotels out of 23 eligible locations). Patti Yenish, owner of the Certificate of Excellence-winning GrandStay® Hotel & Suites in Fort Myers, Florida, emphasized the importance of customer service as a way to set GrandStay® hotels apart from the competition. "We preach, 'Give people more than they expect'," she said, "Treat our guests as you want to be treated as a guest."
Yenish went on to express gratitude to guests who had taken the time to review the hotel on TripAdvisor. "Our guest’s feedback is the only way we are able to measure how well we are doing and where we are falling short.
