Soak Up the Sun in Wisconsin

While the sun is still shining down, you might be contemplating one final trip before the school year begins. If you are looking for a uniquely Midwestern adventure, then a Wisconsin vacation might just be what you need!

Fun Things to Do in Wisconsin

Visiting Wisconsin means taking in beautiful landscapes, with plenty of rivers and lakes. While there’s plenty to do around the Badger State during your Wisconsin vacation, these five towns offer a particularly exciting time.

Visit Eau Claire

Named one of the Top 100 Places to Live in 2016, Eau Claire is known for its vibrant arts scene, love of live music, and beautiful outdoor parks. Be warned: once you visit, you might never want to leave.

If you’re looking to enjoy a nice, cold brew, Eau Claire breweries are top notch. From The Brewing Projekt to Modicum to Lazy Monk Brewing, Eau Claire is truly a beer-lover’s paradise.

Visit La Crosse

When you want to witness the majesty of the Mississippi River, La Crosse is the place to be! For fans of the outdoors, this quaint town is perfect for a weekend getaway. Visit Riverside Park for a beautiful respite from the stresses of daily life. From boating excursions aboard the La Crosse Queen to the Riverside International Friendship Gardens, this park has a little bit of something for everyone.

Then, for a very unique experience, check out La Crosse’s Goat Yoga Class on Saturday mornings. Who doesn’t want to move into Down Dog while a baby goat snuggles up with you?

Visit Madison

Looking for things to do in Madison? This walkable city has an exciting nightlife, lots of good food and drink, and plenty of entertainment. The Madison Children’s Museum offers unique, award-winning exhibits perfect for the young ones in your life. Just because they’re not in school during the summer doesn’t mean they can’t continue learning!

If you don’t mind a bit of a drive, The House on the Rock is a must-see Wisconsin attraction. Experience extensive, eccentric collections, The Infinity Room, and The World’s Largest Indoor Carousel. When you get home, you’ll have quite a story to tell your friends - trust us.

Visit Mount Horeb

Self-described as a “high spirited community”, Mount Horeb is a stop you’re going to want to add to your route. A famous smattering of trolls around town brings a whimsical element to your trip. Packed with small-town charm, Mount Horeb is known as the “Troll Capital of the World”. Don’t believe us? See for yourself (and try to find all 36!)

And when you visit Mount Horeb, be sure to check out Brix Cider for a refreshing cider and true farm-to-table dining experience.

Visit Sheboygan

A beloved Wisconsin town, Sheboygan is famous for its absolutely stunning views. Kohler-Andrae State Park offers miles of beautiful beaches along the crisp blue waters of Lake Michigan. With recreational activities for all ages, you’ll get in some rejuvenating time with Mother Nature.

After that, take a trip to the world of imagination at Bookworm Garden. This one-of-a-kind garden is inspired by some of literature’s most beloved classics. Be sure to check out their special events calendar to see what unique activities they are hosting on any given day.
